Enjoy Corn bread just like the Pennsylvania Railroad used to make.
The Pennsylvania Railroad was one of the largest railroads in the country and had a fleet of dining cars that at one time numbered into the hundreds. From the famous New York to Chicago Broadway Limited to a number of other trains serving the Northeast and the Midwest, the PRR served some of the finest food in its dining cars in the country.
This mixed was based on the recipe found in the PRR Dining Car Department’s
1947 Cooking and Serving Instructions Manual. It said that corn muffins or corn bread “should in every instance bewell done, of good color and very hot”!
Serve these as breakfast muffins or as a loaf with dinner.
Our mix makes 6 muffins or a 4 ½” x 8 1/2” loaf of corn bread.
Stoneground Yellow Corn, Enriched Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted
Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Monoitrate, Riboflavin, Folic
Acid), Cane Sugar, Baking Soda, Monocalcium Phosphate, Calcium Acid Pyrophosphate
and Sea Salt.
This Product is manufactured in a facility that also processes Dairy, Egg and Soy.
