Enjoy the Famous Lackawanna Railroad Krusty Korn Kobs!
This is for bags of our Krusty Korn Kob Mix.
One of the specialties of the Lackawanna’s dining car service was Krusty Korn Kobs. In the book All Aboard With E. M. Frimbo, the story of famous railfan and New Yorker editor Rogers E. M. Whitaker, he is asked, “What were they like?”
“Well, I need only tell you that at this very hour, in the better days, I would be making a breakfast of Lackawanna dining car corn muffins. They were
baked on the car, in a mold that shaped them exactly like ears of corn, with practically every ripe kernel in place – so lifelike that one wanted to salt-
and-butter them all over, and red-hot out of the oven.”
We have found the original recipe to make the famous Lackawanna Krusty Korn Kobs! We are pleased to offer it in an easy to bake mix form. All you need to do is add milk, Canola oil and an eggs.
Each bag of mix makes 2-3 batches of 7 muffins.
Ingredients:
Wheat flour, cornmeal, sugar, Bakewell baking powder and salt.
This Product is manufactured in a facility that also processes Dairy, Egg and Soy.
You can purchase the mix and the corn molds as a set: Famous Lackawanna Krusty Korn Kob Bread Mix and Corn Pan Set
